The university has introduced this provision to give eligible students one more chance to fulfil their remaining examination requirements and obtain their degrees.

The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), popularly known as IP University, has announced an additional final examination opportunity for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students who have been unable to complete their degrees within the prescribed duration.

The initiative is intended to help eligible students clear their remaining examination papers and complete their academic qualifications. The university has announced the opportunity under Ordinances 10, 11 and 25.

Students who wish to use this facility must submit their applications by November 6, 2026. The additional examinations will be conducted in offline mode and will cover both odd and even semesters.

Who is eligible for the final examination opportunity?

The additional opportunity is not available to all current UG and PG students. GGSIPU has specified eligibility conditions that applicants must satisfy.

The facility is intended for students who could not complete their degrees within the prescribed course duration and whose maximum permitted examination opportunities had expired by June 2026.

Applicants must also have completed the study requirements of their respective courses. In other words, the opportunity is meant for students who have completed their course of study but still have pending examination papers to clear.

Students who still have regular examination attempts available under the existing examination scheme will not be eligible for this additional final opportunity.

The university has introduced this provision to give eligible students one more chance to fulfil their remaining examination requirements and obtain their degrees.

Last date to apply is November 6

Eligible students must submit their applications on or before November 6, 2026.

Applicants are required to provide a list of all the subjects or examination papers they intend to appear for under this special opportunity.

An important condition is that the application must carry the signature of the concerned Dean, Director or Principal. Applications without the required authorised signature will not meet the university's submission requirements.

Students should contact their respective college or university department to confirm the prescribed application submission procedure and payment instructions. They should also ensure that all required details and supporting documents are included before submitting the application.

Since November 6 is the announced deadline, eligible candidates should complete the process without waiting until the final day.

Examination fees for eligible students

Students applying under the additional final opportunity provision will have to pay the prescribed continuation fee and subject-wise reappearing examination fee.

The fee structure is:

Fee categoryAmount

Reappearing examination feeRs 1,200 per subject

The continuation fee of Rs 25,000 is payable separately. In addition, students must pay Rs 1,200 for every subject or paper they wish to reappear for.

For example, a student choosing to appear for three pending papers will have to pay Rs 3,600 as the subject-wise examination fee, in addition to the continuation fee of Rs 25,000.

Therefore, the total amount payable will depend on the number of pending papers selected by each candidate. Students should verify the payment procedure and applicable instructions with the university before completing their applications.

Examinations to be conducted offline

GGSIPU has clarified that the additional final opportunity examinations will be conducted exclusively in offline mode.

Students must therefore prepare to attend the examinations at the designated examination centres. The detailed examination timetable, centre information and other instructions will be communicated through the university's official channels.

Candidates should keep their application details and payment receipts safely for future reference. They should also confirm their examination eligibility before making the fee payment.

Opportunity for students with pending degrees

The announcement is significant for students who have completed their academic coursework but could not clear all required examinations within the permitted period.

For some candidates, the expiry of the maximum examination attempts may have prevented them from completing their degrees despite having finished their regular course requirements. The newly announced provision offers eligible students an additional opportunity to clear those pending papers.

However, the university has made it clear that students who still have regular examination opportunities remaining cannot apply under this special provision.

Students covered under Ordinances 10, 11 and 25 should carefully review the eligibility conditions before submitting their applications.
