The Union Public Service Commission has officially declared the results of the Combined Geo-Scientist Preliminary Examination 2025. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now access their results through the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in. The result is released in the form of a PDF document listing the roll numbers of candidates who have qualified for the next stage of the selection process, which is the Mains Examination.
The Combined Geo-Scientist Examination is conducted by UPSC to recruit qualified individuals for various scientific posts under the Central Government, such as Geologist, Geophysicist, Chemist, and Scientist B. The Preliminary examination was held earlier this year across multiple centres nationwide. A large number of candidates from different parts of the country appeared for the examination in pursuit of a career in government scientific services.
To check the results, candidates need to visit the UPSC official website and navigate to the "What’s New" section. The result notification titled “Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination 2025 – Result” provides a direct link to download the PDF. It is important for candidates to retain a copy of the result for future reference. The document includes only roll numbers of candidates who have qualified for the Mains stage.
The Mains Examination is the next phase and will test candidates more extensively in their respective subjects. UPSC has informed that the dates and instructions related to the Mains examination will be published shortly. Qualified candidates are advised to regularly visit the UPSC website for updates on the admit card release and other important announcements.
Additionally, candidates who have cleared the Preliminary examination must fill out the Detailed Application Form (DAF) which will be made available on the UPSC website. This form is mandatory for appearing in the Mains examination and includes academic qualifications, experience, and other relevant details.
The final selection will be based on performance in the Preliminary, Mains, and Interview rounds. Only those who qualify in each stage will be eligible for final recruitment to various scientific positions.
UPSC has reiterated that candidates must ensure the accuracy of information submitted in the DAF and adhere strictly to the timelines announced by the Commission. Any discrepancies or failure to meet the deadlines may lead to cancellation of candidature.
In case of any discrepancies or queries, candidates can contact the UPSC Facilitation Counter near Gate C of the UPSC campus in New Delhi. They may also reach out via the contact numbers or email IDs provided on the official website.
The announcement of the results marks an important milestone for aspirants aiming for scientific careers through UPSC recruitment. With the Mains examination ahead, candidates are encouraged to continue their preparation and stay updated with the official notifications from the Commission.
