The Union Public Service Commission has released the Civil Services Cadre Allocation 2024 list, completing the final stage of the recruitment process for officers selected through the Civil Services Examination. The allocation details have been published on the official government portal, allowing candidates to check their allotted services and state cadres. Among the highlighted allocations, topper Shakti Dubey has been assigned her home state cadre, as per the official notification.

Cadre allocation plays a crucial role in shaping the administrative careers of civil servants. After successfully clearing the preliminary examination, mains examination, and personality test, candidates are finally allotted their respective services such as IAS, IPS, IFS, and other central services. The cadre determines the state or region where the officer will primarily serve during their career, especially in the case of All India Services.

The allocation process is conducted by the Department of Personnel and Training in coordination with the Union Public Service Commission. It is based on a well-defined policy that considers the candidate’s rank, service preference, cadre preference, reservation category, and vacancy position. The government also follows the insider-outsider policy to ensure balanced representation across states and to promote administrative diversity.

Shakti Dubey’s allocation to her home state has drawn public attention as toppers are often allotted cadres based on a combination of merit and availability. While some candidates receive their preferred cadre, others are assigned states based on policy guidelines and administrative requirements. Officials stated that the entire allocation process has been conducted in a transparent and rule-based manner.

Candidates can check the complete allocation list by visiting the official website of the Department of Personnel and Training or the UPSC. The list contains the name of each selected candidate, their rank, allotted service, and assigned cadre. Candidates are advised to carefully verify their details and download a copy of the allocation letter for future reference.

Following the cadre allocation, selected candidates will proceed to their foundational training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie and other designated training institutes depending on their service. The training period includes classroom instruction, physical training, field visits, and hands-on administrative exposure. This phase is considered vital for preparing officers for their future roles in governance and public service.

The Civil Services Examination remains one of the most competitive recruitment processes in the country. Each year, lakhs of aspirants appear for the examination, while only a limited number are selected for various services. The release of the cadre allocation list brings clarity and closure to the long selection process that spans several months.

Experts believe that cadre allocation has a long-term impact on the professional journey of officers, as it influences their exposure to different socio-economic challenges and governance environments. Serving in diverse regions helps officers gain practical experience in administration, law and order, development planning, and public welfare delivery.

Candidates who have been allotted cadres are now required to complete further documentation and formal joining procedures as communicated by the concerned authorities. Any representations related to allocation, if permitted under rules, must be submitted within the stipulated time frame. Aspirants are advised to regularly follow official updates from the UPSC and the Department of Personnel and Training for further instructions related to training schedules and posting details.

The allocation details have been published on the official government portal, allowing candidates to check their allotted services and state cadres.
