The uncut version of Obsession will begin streaming in India on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 7 PM. Viewers can find the film on The Peacock Hub, JioHotstar’s dedicated entertainment destination for content from Peacock.
The upcoming release follows the film’s theatrical run in India, where it opened on May 29, 2026. After its cinema release, the film became available through digital rental options. Its arrival on JioHotstar marks a new opportunity for audiences to watch the film through the streaming platform.
The original uncut version is a major part of the announcement. Some viewers had expressed disappointment over the removal of graphic scenes from the theatrical version. The digital premiere is expected to provide access to the fuller version of the film, with additional footage presented as part of the complete story.
Where to Watch Obsession Online
Indian viewers will be able to stream Obsession: The Original Uncut Version on JioHotstar through The Peacock Hub. The film is scheduled to be available in both English and Hindi from 7 PM on October 30.
Viewers should check the platform’s listing for the final availability details, language options and any subscription requirements before watching. The film’s earlier rental availability is separate from this announced streaming premiere.
The release date, which falls just before Halloween, makes the film a timely option for viewers looking for horror entertainment during the seasonal celebrations.
What Is Obsession About?
Written and directed by Curry Barker, Obsession centres on Bear, played by Michael Johnston, a young man who longs for Nikki, portrayed by Inde Navarrette, to return his feelings.
Bear comes across a mysterious supernatural object known as the One Wish Willow. Believing it can fulfil his deepest desire, he uses it to make Nikki fall in love with him. At first, the wish appears to offer him the relationship he has always wanted.
However, the consequences quickly become disturbing. Nikki’s affection develops into something far more intense and frightening than Bear anticipated. His attempt to control another person’s feelings turns into a nightmare, bringing psychological tension, supernatural horror and increasingly dangerous situations into their lives.
Rather than relying solely on supernatural scares, the film explores the darker side of desire and the consequences of trying to force love. Its central premise raises questions about consent, emotional control and the difference between genuine affection and obsession.
Cast and Crew
Michael Johnston leads the film as Bear, while Inde Navarrette plays Nikki. The supporting cast includes Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless and Andy Richter.
Curry Barker serves as the film’s writer and director. The story combines psychological horror with supernatural elements, using a seemingly simple wish as the starting point for a much more unsettling chain of events.
The performances and the film’s central relationship are important to its narrative, as the story shifts from a young man’s hope for romance to the frightening consequences of his decision.
Why the Uncut Version Is Significant
The theatrical release drew attention because some graphic scenes were reportedly removed from the version shown in cinemas. That prompted interest among viewers who wanted to see the film in a less-edited form.
The October 30 digital premiere will give Indian audiences an official opportunity to watch the original uncut version. The additional footage may be of particular interest to viewers who followed discussions surrounding the theatrical cut and its omitted scenes.
The film’s release also arrives at a time when horror titles often receive renewed attention around Halloween. Its combination of supernatural events, unsettling relationship dynamics and graphic horror makes it a relevant addition to the season’s viewing options.
