Ranbir Kapoor Praises Yash at Ramayana Event, Says KGF Made Him a Huge Fan
Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has praised Kannada star Yash for his dedication to cinema, recalling how watching KGF turned him into a fan of the actor. Ranbir shared his admiration during a promotional event for the upcoming film Ramayana in Hyderabad, where the two actors are preparing to appear together on screen.
Speaking about his first impression of Yash, Ranbir said he became a huge fan after watching KGF. He later met Yash in Goa and gained a deeper understanding of the actor’s involvement in filmmaking. According to Ranbir, Yash’s abilities extend beyond acting and stardom to include writing, storytelling, production and direction.
Ranbir Kapoor Recalls Watching KGF
During the event, Ranbir described how KGF shaped his first impression of Yash. The Kannada film, led by Yash as Rocky, gained widespread attention and helped establish the actor as a prominent name among audiences across India.
Ranbir explained that watching the film made him a fan before he met Yash personally. He recalled meeting the actor in Goa while Yash was conducting a recce for a film. The meeting gave Ranbir an opportunity to observe Yash’s approach to cinema beyond his on-screen performances.
Ranbir said he came to recognise Yash as a person who understands multiple aspects of filmmaking. He praised the actor’s knowledge of writing, storytelling, acting, producing and directing, describing him as a “cinema man” rather than simply a superstar.
The comments highlighted Ranbir’s respect for Yash’s creative involvement in films and the work that takes place behind the camera.
Ranbir Praises Yash’s Dedication to Filmmaking
Ranbir also spoke about Yash’s commitment to his work. He recalled being impressed that Yash continued to manage his own production while working on Ramayana.
According to Ranbir, the actor’s passion and dedication stood out to him. He said he had not seen that level of commitment in many people and expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to work alongside Yash.
The praise reflects the professional respect developing between the two actors as they work on one of Indian cinema’s highly anticipated projects. While Ranbir is known for his performances in Hindi films, Yash gained a wider national audience through the success of the KGF franchise.
Their collaboration brings together performers associated with different film industries and audiences.
Ranbir Kapoor and Yash in Ramayana
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is a two-part cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, while Yash portrays Ravana. Sai Pallavi plays Sita, and the cast also includes several established actors in supporting roles.
The film is being produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The production aims to present the epic on a large cinematic scale, combining performances with extensive visual effects.
The first instalment is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026, according to published reports. The second part is planned for release during Diwali 2027.
The Hyderabad promotional event offered the cast an opportunity to discuss the film and share their experiences of working together. Ranbir’s remarks about Yash also drew attention to the creative partnership behind the project.
Yash’s Journey from KGF to Ramayana
Yash rose to wider national prominence through KGF: Chapter 1 and KGF: Chapter 2, in which he played Rocky, a character whose rise to power drives the action-packed story. The films reached audiences well beyond Karnataka and helped strengthen his profile across Indian cinema.
His role as Ravana in Ramayana represents a different kind of project, placing him in a major adaptation of a story deeply rooted in Indian cultural traditions. The casting has attracted interest because of the scale of the production and the pairing of actors from different film industries.
Ranbir’s comments offer a glimpse into how he views his co-star’s work ethic and creative understanding. Rather than focusing only on Yash’s popularity, he highlighted the actor’s broader contribution to filmmaking.
As anticipation builds for Ramayana, the actors’ public comments and promotional appearances are adding to interest in the project. The film’s release and audience response will determine how the ambitious adaptation performs in theatres.
