Produced by Thoogudeepa Productions, the film has maintained its popularity since its original run and remains a fan favorite in Kannada cinema.

The highly acclaimed Kannada film Navagraha, featuring Darshan and directed by Dinakar Thoogudeepa, is set for a special re-release on November 7, 2024, marking its return to theatres 16 years after its initial debut. This re-release, happening across over 100 theatres, is a response to strong demand from fans of "Challenging Star" Darshan. Produced by Thoogudeepa Productions, the film has maintained its popularity since its original run and remains a fan favorite in Kannada cinema.

The re-release date was confirmed by Dinakar Thoogudeepa and Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi, on Thursday, with members of the original cast joining to celebrate the film’s enduring impact. Reflecting on the occasion, Dinakar shared his excitement on social media: “My second directorial venture, Navagraha, was a heartfelt project to spotlight the sons of famous Kannada actors who often played villains. The continued love and support for the film, even 16 years later, is truly gratifying.”

Navagraha is notable for its ensemble cast, which includes actors like Srujan Lokesh, Tharun Sudhir, Vinod Prabhakar, Nagendra Urs, and Sharmiela Mandre, whose fathers were known for playing villainous roles in the industry. While Darshan was last seen in Kaatera, released in December 2023, his past hits have been making a strong return to theatres throughout 2024. This trend began with re-releases of Shastri and Robbert, followed by Kariya. Other re-releases include Namma Preetiya Ramu, which will coincide with Kannada Rajyotsava on November 1, and other Darshan classics like Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna and Airavata.
