Popular Kannada TV actor Sarith Balappa has been accused of sexual harassment by a 29-year-old actress, who filed a complaint with the Rajarajeshwari Nagar police. The actress, who has been acting in Kannada and Telugu serials since 2017, claims that she was coerced into maintaining contact with Sarith from 2023 onward. According to the police, Sarith allegedly pressured her into having physical contact and threatened her with mental distress, threats to her life, and even death.
The actress further stated that Sarith, along with his associates, extorted money from her and threatened to release compromising pictures and videos of her on social media. Additionally, he allegedly used his connections with influential politicians and gangsters to intimidate her, saying that he could have her imprisoned whenever he wished.
Based on these serious allegations, the police have registered a case under various criminal sections and arrested Sarith Balappa.
