Kerebete, a debut feature film by director Rajguru, was showcased at the prestigious 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, under the Indian Panorama section. The film offers a glimpse into the unique fish-hunting practices of Karnataka's Malnad region while exploring powerful themes like caste discrimination and ecological preservation. Kerebete was selected from an impressive 384 feature films and marks a major achievement for Kannada cinema, joining another Kannada film, Venkya, by Sagar Puranik, in the Indian Panorama lineup.

The film's director, Rajguru, lead actor-producer Gowrishankar SRG, and debut actress Bindu Shivaram attended the event, engaging with the audience and sharing their experiences in bringing this culturally rich and socially relevant story to the screen. Kerebete premiered on March 15 and is produced by Janamana Cinema Institute. The ensemble cast includes Gopal Deshpande, Sampath Kumar Harini, and Bindu Gowda, alongside Gowrishankar in the lead role.

The Indian Panorama section at IFFI celebrates the best of Indian cinema, with 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films selected from hundreds of entries across the country. Kerebete’s inclusion is a testament to its cinematic excellence, offering a fresh perspective on traditional practices and pressing social issues.
