Rishi, acclaimed for his roles in Operation Alamelamma and Kavaludaari, is all set to make a thrilling comeback with the action-packed Rudra Garuda Purana. Initially slated for release on December 27, the film’s release has now been pushed to January 24, 2025, marking a powerful start to the new year.
Directed by KS Nandeesh and produced by Lohith under the Ashwini Arts banner, Rudra Garuda Purana explores the mystery surrounding a bus accident that occurred 25 years ago, which claimed the lives of all passengers. In a shocking twist, the same bus and its passengers reappear years later, triggering an intense investigation. The film's first look, teaser, and songs have already piqued the audience's interest.
Director Nandeesh reveals that the story is inspired by the real-life mystery of Pan Am Flight 914, where a plane disappeared in 1955 and reappeared 30 years later. The premise of Rudra Garuda Purana revolves around this enigma, with the 17A Kaveri Express bus taking center stage.
While the teaser sparked speculation about similarities with the Tamil film Diary, Nandeesh clarified that the films are not connected, aside from both involving a bus accident. He confidently assured audiences that Rudra Garuda Purana is an original Kannada film.
Rishi, who dons the khaki once again after Kavaludaari, is excited about the project, expressing confidence that audiences will enjoy the film. Priyanka Kumar plays the lead role, while Ashwini Gowda, Shivaraj K R Pete, Ram Pavan, and others play pivotal supporting roles.
The music, composed by Krishna Prasad, has been well-received, with the teaser and songs already generating positive buzz. Director Nandeesh is hopeful that the film’s enthusiastic reception online will translate into success at the box office when it releases in January 2025.
