Veteran actor Mohan Babu, who is celebrating his remarkable 50-year journey in Telugu cinema, is set to appear in the fantasy drama Kannappa. The film, which stars his son Vishnu Manchu in the title role, will showcase Mohan Babu in the role of Mahadeva Shastri. On Friday, the makers revealed a new character poster featuring the iconic actor in a powerful, divine look.
The character poster presents Mohan Babu dressed in traditional attire, adorned with Rudraksha malas around his neck and wrists, exuding an aura of spirituality and strength. Holding a weapon and surrounded by a group of Lord Shiva’s followers, the poster captures the spiritual essence of his character. The tagline, “When arrogance intertwines with faith, it births a force like no other,” hints at the intensity and depth of the character.
Kannappa is a special film for the Manchu family, as it marks the on-screen collaboration of three generations: Mohan Babu, Vishnu Manchu, and Vishnu’s son Avram Manchu. The film, which is being mounted as a pan-India production, also features special appearances by Prabhas and Akshay Kumar, with a star-studded supporting cast including Mohanlal, Sarath Kumar, Madhoo, Brahmanandam, and Kajal Aggarwal.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by 24 Frames Factory, Kannappa boasts cinematography by Seldon Chau, editing by Anthony Gonsalvez, and music by Stephen Devassy. The film’s action sequences and stunts are choreographed by Kecha Khamphakdee. Although the release date has yet to be announced, the makers have generated significant anticipation for this grand fantasy drama.
