The makers of Naga Chaitanya’s highly anticipated film Thandel have encountered unexpected challenges regarding its release schedule. Initially, the film was set to hit theaters on December 20, 2024. However, this plan was complicated when Ram Charan's film Game Changer was also scheduled for release on that same day. As a result, the production team of Thandel was forced to slow down its shooting and explore alternative release dates.
With the December release now off the table, Thandel filmmakers considered a potential release during the Sankranti festival in 2025. However, just as they were adjusting their plans, Dil Raju, the producer of Game Changer, announced that his film will indeed release during the Sankranti 2025 window. This has left the Thandel team in a precarious situation, as they now face intense competition from a high-profile film.
Even if the filmmakers of Thandel accelerate their production and shooting schedule, meeting the original December 20 release date seems increasingly unlikely. The adjustments in the release date of Game Changer, a big-budget film, will significantly impact the plans of other medium-sized films like Thandel. This situation echoes previous instances in the industry where films such as RRR, Kalki 2898 AD, Devara, and Pushpa altered their release strategies due to competing titles.
