In clarifying his government’s balanced development model, Naidu explained that it is not about choosing one city over the others but ensuring that each region plays to its strengths .

In a significant development-oriented statement, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has addressed the much-debated issue regarding which city—Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, or Tirupati—will be the true face of the state’s future. Speaking exclusively on this subject, the Chief Minister clarified his government’s vision of regional equity while stressing the need for a clear administrative and economic direction.

Naidu, who played a key role in envisioning Amaravati as the capital city during his previous tenure, reiterated his commitment to developing it as the administrative and political hub of the state. He said that Amaravati remains a symbol of planned urban development and governance continuity. He added that work would resume on halted projects and that Amaravati will be developed into a capital city that reflects modernity, sustainability, and accessibility.

At the same time, Naidu acknowledged the growing economic and industrial relevance of Visakhapatnam. Often dubbed the financial capital of Andhra Pradesh, Visakhapatnam has a strategic location, a robust port infrastructure, and a strong IT and pharmaceutical base. The CM emphasized that Visakhapatnam will continue to be developed as the economic engine of the state, attracting investments, creating jobs, and contributing to export and innovation.

Meanwhile, Tirupati, known as a spiritual and cultural centre, also holds significant potential, especially in education and tourism. With institutions like IIT, IISER, and other major universities, Tirupati is also being nurtured as a knowledge and heritage city. “No region will be left behind. Tirupati will grow as a centre of learning, devotion, and cultural identity,” Naidu noted.

In clarifying his government’s balanced development model, Naidu explained that it is not about choosing one city over the others but ensuring that each region plays to its strengths. He criticized the previous government for halting Amaravati's progress and allowing confusion to persist among citizens and investors.

“This is not a time for political games; this is the time for building Andhra Pradesh's future,” Naidu stated. “Amaravati will serve as the administrative capital, Visakhapatnam will drive industrial and financial growth, and Tirupati will represent cultural and educational excellence.”

Political observers see this as a well-calibrated move to unify the state’s regions under a common development vision, avoiding regional bias. The CM’s remarks also signal a return to his earlier blueprint for the state, while adapting to the realities and opportunities that emerged in recent years.

As Andhra Pradesh begins a new administrative phase under Naidu’s leadership, the focus is firmly on infrastructure revival, regional inclusion, and policy clarity. His message is clear: no city will be left behind, and the future will be shaped by a collaborative approach that respects the potential of Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati alike.
