Fresh snowfall and heavy rainfall have caused severe disruptions in various districts of Himachal Pradesh, impacting daily life and essential services. Key tourist and residential areas, including Shimla, Manali, Kullu, and Lahaul-Spiti, have witnessed heavy snowfall, leading to blocked roads and power supply interruptions. The harsh weather has particularly affected transportation, with several highways and local roads rendered impassable due to snow accumulation and landslides.
The extreme weather conditions have also impacted education, with the state education board announcing the postponement of scheduled board exams for students. Schools in heavily affected areas have been temporarily closed for safety reasons.
Authorities have deployed snow-clearing machinery and emergency teams to restore normalcy in affected regions. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of continued snowfall and rain in the coming days, advising residents and tourists to take necessary precautions. Travelers have been urged to check weather updates before planning their journeys, as several flights and bus services have also been delayed or canceled.
The government has assured that relief measures are underway, with efforts focused on restoring power supply and ensuring medical aid reaches remote areas. Meanwhile, local residents and businesses are bracing for further disruptions as winter conditions continue to intensify across the state.
