Police in Kerala have arrested a man identified as Muhammad Roshan in connection with an alleged extortion attempt targeting a relative of a senior Indian Union Muslim League leader The arrest was made in Perinthalmanna after the accused had been on the run for several days following the registration of the case
According to police officials the accused is alleged to have demanded a large sum of money from the victim by issuing threats The suspect reportedly claimed that he would circulate defamatory images on social media platforms if his demands were not met The case gained attention due to the involvement of a relative of a prominent political figure
