A thick blanket of fog engulfed Chidambaram town in Tamil Nadu, significantly reducing visibility and disrupting normal life. The dense fog, which set in early morning, led to traffic slowdowns, affecting both commuters and transportation services. Residents struggled with limited visibility, making it difficult to navigate through the town.
The reduced visibility caused delays in public transport, with buses and private vehicles moving cautiously to avoid accidents. Several schools and businesses reported late openings as people found it challenging to reach their destinations on time.
Authorities have issued advisories urging motorists to drive with extreme caution, use headlights, and maintain a safe distance between vehicles. The local administration has also deployed traffic personnel in key areas to prevent mishaps and regulate movement.
Weather experts have attributed the foggy conditions to a combination of high humidity and a sudden drop in temperature during the early hours. They expect the fog to dissipate as temperatures rise later in the day. However, they have warned that similar conditions may persist in the coming days, urging residents to stay updated with weather alerts.
As Chidambaram continues to grapple with the dense fog, authorities remain on high alert to ensure public safety and minimize disruptions. Travelers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow safety guidelines while commuting.
