In a strong display of dissent against the government's farm market policies, the United Farmers' Front organized a document-burning protest in Kadalur. The event, held near the Jawans Bhavan at Thiruppadhiripuliyur, was a direct response to the agricultural marketing policies that farmers claim are detrimental to their livelihood.

The protest was led by Saravanan, the district coordinator of the United Farmers' Front, with other prominent leaders such as Karuppaiyan, the district president of CITU, Prakash, the district secretary of the Agricultural Laborers Union, Dakshinamurthy, the district vice-president of the Farmers' Union, and Amarnath, the city secretary of the Makyu, taking part in the rally.

The demonstrators voiced strong opposition to the government's decision regarding agricultural policies, specifically criticizing the recent changes in market laws that they argue will harm small-scale farmers. The symbolic act of burning copies of official documents was a key aspect of the protest, intended to demonstrate their strong opposition to these policies.

As the protest grew, police intervened and stopped the document-burning activity, escorting the protesters away from the site. Despite the police action, the farmers' union leaders reiterated their demand for the immediate repeal of the policies and vowed to continue their fight for fairer agricultural practices.

The protest in Kadalur is part of a larger ongoing movement by farmers' unions across the region, highlighting their dissatisfaction with the current policies affecting their income and working conditions.
