Government Buses Skip Stops on Kadalur-Chidambaram Road, Leaving Passengers Without Options

In the evenings, particularly, women with young children and elderly passengers are often seen waiting for long periods, unable to board government buses.

On the Kadalur-Chidambaram road, passengers are facing significant challenges as government buses are bypassing their usual stops in favor of using the four-lane elevated highway. This shift in route has led to disruptions for passengers traveling through areas like Buvanagiri, Parangipettai, Mudlur, Pudhuchathiram, and Periyapattu.

Previously, government buses adhered to scheduled routes and stopped at designated points to pick up passengers. However, now many buses, including fast services, have begun to bypass these areas and use the four-lane elevated highway to head directly to Chidambaram. As a result, passengers from local areas are left stranded without transport options.

In the evenings, particularly, women with young children and elderly passengers are often seen waiting for long periods, unable to board government buses. They are forced to rely on private buses, which are often not as frequent or reliable.

Furthermore, most government express buses traveling from Chidambaram to Chennai bypass the usual stops and travel directly via the elevated highway to Kadalur, leaving no buses on the old routes. This has led to growing dissatisfaction among the affected passengers.
