On his visit to the 1000-year-old Viruthakreeswarar Temple in Viruthachalam, ISRO scientist Sivadhanu Pillai, along with his family, paid a visit to the temple to seek the blessings of the deities. The Viruthakreeswarar Temple, known for its remarkable architecture and spiritual significance, is one of the oldest and most revered temples in the region.

The temple is famously known for its adage "Greater than Kashi," signifying its deep cultural and religious significance. The temple houses five towers (Gopurams), five sacred trees (Kodimaram), five Nandis, and five halls (Mandapams), all of which contribute to its distinctiveness.

Sivadhanu Pillai, widely recognized as one of the key scientists behind the BrahMos missile, arrived at the temple at around 9:30 AM with his family. After offering prayers to the principal deities of the temple, including Viruthakreeswarar, Viruthambikai Amman, and Azhathu Vinayagar, he performed special poojas to express his devotion.

In his brief interaction, Sivadhanu Pillai expressed how this visit had been a spiritually enriching experience for him and his family. He praised the temple’s maintenance and its historical significance, which continues to draw devotees and visitors from across the region.
