The 26th annual festival of the Veer Karan Temple in Adhiyamaan Fort, located in the Nallampalli region of Dharmapuri District, was celebrated with grandeur and devotion. The festival was inaugurated by former Minister K. B. Anbazhagan, who hoisted the temple flag, marking the beginning of the auspicious occasion.
The rituals commenced with a special abhishekam (ritual bath) for the idol of Veer Karan. Twelve sacred offerings, including milk, yogurt, young coconut water, paneer, turmeric, saffron, sandalwood paste, honey, vibhuti, and panchamirtham, were used during the ritual, as devotees offered their prayers. In addition, pongal (a rice dish) was offered to the deity, followed by a ceremonial procession featuring Veer Karan’s army.
The event attracted prominent political and community leaders, including Vetrivel, Dharmapuri MLA, Venkateswaran, Pappireddipatti MLA, Govindasamy, Dharmapuri City Secretary Pookadai Ravi, Nallampalli Union Secretary Shiv Prakash, and others. Former city council vice-chairman Thangaraj, Amma Vaidevel, City Council Member Sathya Karthik, Veera Prabhakaran, Technology Division Salem Mandal Secretary Prasad Subhash, and Aru Raj were also present to witness the event.
A key highlight of the festival was the annadhanam (community meal), where over 5,000 devotees were served food. The temple saw visitors from twelve villages across the region, all coming to pay homage to Veer Karan. The festival arrangements were meticulously managed by Palani, the former city council member and president of the Veer Karan Temple, ensuring the smooth execution of the event.
The celebration not only brought together devotees but also underscored the vibrant cultural and religious heritage of the region, marking an important occasion in the temple’s long-standing history.
