The third annual Jallikattu competition in Dharmapuri will take place on January 22, 2024, in the Thadankam region. This event is being organized by the Tamil Nadu Jallikattu Association in collaboration with the Mandu Mariamman Temple festival. To mark the commencement of the event preparations, a "Kaalkol Pooja" was performed today at the Mandu Mariamman Temple in the presence of Thapa Siva, the event's head. The pooja ceremony was followed by the initiation of construction and safety measures for the event, including the setting up of the Vaadi Vasal (entrance for bulls) and spectator stands.

The Jallikattu Association has also introduced an online registration system for participants, where bulls and bull tamers can register for the competition. This will streamline the process and ensure smooth participation.
