The sighting of these elephants along the road raised concerns that they might soon enter the farmlands or even the nearby towns, posing a serious risk to both property and human safety.

Sathyamangalam, a region in Erode district, is known for its rich wildlife, especially elephants, which are frequently found in the forested areas around the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve. Recently, these elephants have been causing significant concern among local farmers as they have been entering agricultural lands and destroying crops. This issue has become a recurring problem, with farmers living in constant anxiety over potential crop damage.

Yesterday evening, over 10 elephants were seen gathered along the roadside near the Guruperarundi area, which further heightened the fear among the people living nearby. The sighting of these elephants along the road raised concerns that they might soon enter the farmlands or even the nearby towns, posing a serious risk to both property and human safety.

Due to this ongoing threat, the local residents have urged the forest department to take immediate action. They have called for the elephants to be driven back into the denser parts of the forest where they belong, to prevent further disturbances and damage. The residents fear that without proper intervention, the elephants might cause more harm to crops and threaten the safety of the community.
