In celebration of Hanuman Jayanti, a public holiday has been declared for the turmeric auction in Erode on December 30, 2023. As per the regular schedule, turmeric auctions are held from Monday to Friday at the Erode and Perundurai sale centers. However, due to the Hanuman Jayanti festival, the auctions will remain closed on December 30.
Turmeric traders and auction participants will not be involved in the auction on that day. As a result, the turmeric market in Erode and surrounding regions will be temporarily paused. Traders are advised to take note of this holiday and adjust their business schedules accordingly. The regular turmeric auctions will resume on December 31, 2023.
Sathymurthy, the Secretary of the Erode Turmeric Traders and Warehouse Owners Association, officially communicated this information to the traders and other stakeholders.
