A medical evaluation camp for differently-abled students in the Chinnasalem Union was successfully conducted, benefiting students from local areas. The camp, aimed at providing essential healthcare services and issuing identification cards, catered to 55 students under the age of 18. It was led by District Differently-Abled Welfare Officer, Subramani, and included specialists from various fields to ensure comprehensive health checks. Dr. Prabhakaran, an orthopaedic specialist, Dr. Ganeshraja, an ENT expert, Dr. Gayathri, an ophthalmologist, and Dr. Silambarasan, a psychiatrist, provided medical assessments for the students.
In addition to the medical evaluations, all the participants were registered for receiving UID cards, which will act as a national identification for the differently-abled students. These ID cards aim to offer them access to various government schemes and services.
The initiative reflects the government's commitment to the welfare of differently-abled individuals in rural areas and ensures that they receive the necessary support for their development and access to essential services. This medical camp was a significant step towards enhancing their quality of life and creating awareness among the local communities about the rights and resources available for differently-abled individuals.
