Although road authorities had carried out some patchwork repairs years ago, the potholes have reappeared in larger numbers, causing further difficulty for those traveling on this route.

Rishivandiyam, Dec 18, 2024: The road between Rishivandiyam and Thyagathurugam is in a dilapidated state, causing significant inconvenience to commuters. Thousands of people travel daily from Rishivandiyam and its surrounding villages to Thyagathurugam and Kallakurichi. However, the road, particularly through the forest area towards the Milkate region, has developed numerous potholes. This has become a major issue, with motorcyclists often getting stuck in the holes, especially at night when riding at high speeds, leading to accidents.

In addition to the damaged section near Milkate, the road from Rishivandiyam to Kedilam Koodroadu is also in poor condition. Although road authorities had carried out some patchwork repairs years ago, the potholes have reappeared in larger numbers, causing further difficulty for those traveling on this route.

The public has expressed frustration, demanding a comprehensive road repair instead of temporary fixes. They argue that the road should be fully resurfaced to ensure better safety for all travelers, especially considering the risks posed by the existing potholes.

The local people are urging the authorities to prioritize the full renovation of the road, citing that a patchwork approach has proven ineffective in addressing the problem long-term.
