In the upcoming Tamil Nadu legislative elections, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin assured that the DMK would win in all 10 constituencies of Madurai district, with Usilampatti being the primary focus. This statement was made during a welfare assistance distribution ceremony organized by the Usilampatti North Union, held in celebration of Stalin’s birthday. The event took place in Meiyanampatti, under the Seemanuthu Panchayat, and was organized under the leadership of Union Secretary Ajithpandi.
The ceremony resembled a public meeting, with several key officials attending, including Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration, Moorthy, and Madurai South District Secretary, Manimaran. During the event, welfare assistance worth 36 lakh rupees was distributed to around 11,000 people. The beneficiaries included farmers who received tractors, differently-abled individuals who were given two-wheelers, medical workers, and rural residents of the Usilampatti North Union.
Minister Moorthy, in his speech, expressed his gratitude to Union Secretary Ajithpandi for organizing the event in a manner that resembled a public meeting. He also highlighted the importance of Usilampatti in the success of the previous Theni Parliamentary elections, noting that the constituency played a crucial role in securing victory.
Looking ahead to the legislative elections, Minister Moorthy confidently stated that the DMK would win all 10 constituencies in Madurai district, with Usilampatti being the most prominent. He urged that regardless of who is chosen as the candidate, they must ensure victory. He emphasized that the event, which was organized on the occasion of Udhayanidhi Stalin's birthday, symbolized the continued strength of the DMK in Usilampatti.
Minister Moorthy also praised the collective efforts that led to the victory in the Theni Parliamentary elections and expressed optimism that similar collaboration would ensure success in the upcoming legislative elections. He concluded by asserting that in the Tamil Nadu elections, Madurai will lead, with Usilampatti taking the forefront.
