As part of the 'National Road Safety Month,' a special awareness program was conducted at the Government Arts College in Andagalur Gate, near Rasipuram. The primary objective of the event was to educate students on the importance of road safety and to encourage measures to prevent accidents.
The event was organized with the support of Red Cross Society students and led by the college principal, Banumathi. During the program, participants were informed about road accident statistics, the primary causes of accidents, penalties for violating traffic rules, and alternative measures for safer roads. The session emphasized the importance of following traffic regulations and obtaining a valid driver's license.
Addressing the students, Divisional Engineer Kumudha and Assistant Divisional Engineer Subramani elaborated on how young individuals can drive vehicles safely, the necessity of holding a valid driver’s license, and various government initiatives promoting road safety. The officers highlighted the benefits of adhering to traffic rules and instilled a sense of responsibility among the attendees.
The program saw active participation from faculty members, assistant professors, students, and officials from the National Highways Department, including Jagathees Kumar and Manikandan. Students enthusiastically engaged in the event, gaining valuable insights into the significance of road safety.
This awareness program is expected to have a lasting impact by fostering a culture of compliance with traffic rules, ensuring safety on roads, and contributing to a secure future for all.
