In Theni district, a tea shop owner Selvaraj (50) from Ramanlingapuram, Kandamanur, and lorry driver Ramesh Kumar (42) had a dispute over setting up a tea stall. As a result, Ramesh Kumar killed both his father and daughter by driving them in a car. In this case, the Theni Principal District Court sentenced Ramesh Kumar to 42 years of double life imprisonment.
Meanwhile, Selvaraj filed a complaint with the police stating that Ramesh Kumar and his relative Muthumani had threatened him, saying he should not run a tea stall. No action was taken by the police.
This murder case highlights the need for taking action to resolve disputes in public places and address issues before they escalate.
