Tourists and local residents are urging for additional buses to be operated to the Megamalai region. Megamalai is a prominent tourist destination in the Theni district. This area includes places such as Haivis, Manalaru, Venniraru, Iravangalaru, Maharaja Mettu, and Thoovanam, which attract a large number of tourists. Located near the foothills of the Western Ghats, this region enjoys a temperate climate, making it a popular spot for tourists.
Many visitors from other regions travel to Megamalai by car, but local residents are particularly requesting more bus services. Currently, transportation in the area presents a challenge, particularly with limited facilities for both locals and tourists. Hence, the operation of additional buses would make it much easier to travel to these places.
If buses are operated up to Haivis Panchayat, it would greatly benefit the travelers. This would provide tourists with a clearer and faster opportunity to explore the Megamalai region. Especially with an increasing number of tourists from other areas, increasing bus services will play a significant role in the development of tourism in these regions.
A public request has been raised for the operation of additional buses by the Kambam and Theni District Transport Corporations. Authorities should take action to expand the bus services and enhance the experience for the tourists.
