The Vadaraanyeswarar Temple, located in Thiruvallangadu, will host the annual Arudra Abhishekam ceremony on the night of January 12th. This temple, an important shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, is the first of the five celestial sabhas where Lord Nataraja is believed to have performed his cosmic dance. The Arudra Abhishekam will commence at 9:00 PM on January 12th and will continue until 3:00 AM the following day.
The ritual involves offering 34 varieties of fruits as part of the abhishekam to Lord Nataraja. Following the abhishekam, Lord Nataraja will be adorned with special decorations and will emerge to bless the devotees at 5:00 AM the next day. The event will also feature the tower darshan at this time.
This year, more than two lakh devotees from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Puducherry are expected to attend the Arudra Abhishekam and darshan. To ensure the safety and smooth flow of the event, security arrangements are being overseen by Ramani, the Joint Commissioner of the Thiruthani Temple, and Sridharan, the head of the temple’s trustee board.
