In Uthukottai, located in Tiruvallur district, the Periyapalayam Bhavani Amman Temple sees a significant number of devotees visiting to seek blessings from the goddess. Devotees from nearby areas, including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, and even neighboring states, regularly come with their families to have darshan of the goddess on Tuesdays, Fridays, Sundays, and public holidays.
One of the notable festivals held at this temple is the Thiruvilakku Puja, which is observed on every full moon day (Poornami). The other day, 108 women gathered and participated in the Thiruvilakku Puja, an important ritual of devotion. Following the puja, the goddess, Bhavani Amman, was carried in a procession on her golden chariot, which circled the temple three times, blessing the devotees. The procession was a significant spiritual event, and the devotees worshipped the goddess with great devotion as she blessed them from the golden chariot.
