In the Ekkadu Panchayat area, under the Thiruvallur block, residents of Traffic Nagar are enduring significant hardships due to severely damaged roads. Ekkadu is located on the Thiruvallur-Sengundram road, an area that has been rapidly developing. Traffic Nagar, part of this locality, consists of over 500 houses, with residents facing daily challenges due to the poor state of the roads.
Many residents rely on the roads to purchase essential goods, while students and the general public use the route to travel to schools, colleges, and other destinations. However, there is no proper road access from Traffic Nagar to the main Ekkadu road, and the streets are riddled with potholes and craters. The recent rains have worsened the situation, further damaging the roads and making them almost impassable.
The streets are filled with mud and stones, leaving residents struggling to walk, with two-wheelers also unable to navigate the roads. Emergency services, including ambulances and autos, are unable to reach the area due to the deplorable road conditions. This has led to severe inconvenience for the people living in Traffic Nagar.
In light of these difficulties, the residents are urgently calling for the repair of the damaged roads and the construction of proper tar roads to ensure safer and easier travel.
