New York:

In a symbolic and inspiring start to the 75-day countdown to the International Day of Yoga, a yoga session was organized at the World Trade Center, the tallest building in the United States. The event, hosted by the Consulate General of India in New York, was attended by yoga enthusiasts, diplomats, and community leaders from various backgrounds.

The yoga session took place at the 102nd floor observatory of the One World Trade Center, offering breathtaking views of the city and creating a serene environment to celebrate the ancient Indian practice. The event aimed to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga and encourage participation in International Yoga Day, which is celebrated worldwide on June 21.

Consul General of India in New York, Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, addressed the gathering and highlighted yoga's increasing global significance. “Yoga is India’s gift to the world. It promotes unity of body, mind, and soul. It’s heartening to see people across cultures embracing it as a lifestyle,” he said.

Participants followed a guided yoga session focusing on breathing exercises, meditation, and basic asanas. The serene atmosphere at the height of 1,268 feet provided a unique and memorable experience, combining the spiritual essence of yoga with the symbolic height of human achievement.

The countdown event at the World Trade Center served as a powerful message of peace, wellness, and global unity. It also reflects the Indian government’s efforts to take yoga beyond borders, reinforcing India’s cultural diplomacy and its vision of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world is one family.
