The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has strongly condemned the reported military action by the United States and Israel against Iran and appealed to the international community to intervene for an immediate ceasefire.

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has strongly condemned the reported military action by the United States and Israel against Iran and appealed to the international community to intervene for an immediate ceasefire. In a press statement issued in New Delhi on Tuesday, the organisation urged the United Nations to take effective and concrete measures to prevent further escalation in West Asia.

The board described the developments as a serious threat to regional stability and expressed concern that continued hostilities could push the region toward a wider conflict. It called upon global powers and diplomatic institutions to prioritise dialogue and peaceful resolution over military confrontation.

Board spokesperson SQR Ilyas stated that prior to the recent escalation, there had been progress in negotiations between Iran and the United States regarding Iran’s nuclear programme. He suggested that diplomatic channels should remain open and that dialogue remains the most viable path to resolving disputes. According to the statement, any disruption of ongoing negotiations could have far reaching implications for international security.

The organisation also expressed grief over reports concerning the death of Ali Khamenei. However, at the time of reporting, there has been no official confirmation from Iranian authorities or credible international agencies regarding such claims. The board emphasised that targeting the central leadership of a sovereign nation during wartime and publicly advocating regime change would amount to a violation of established principles of international law.

The statement underscored the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations, in accordance with the United Nations Charter. It urged member states to avoid actions that could intensify hostilities or destabilise neighbouring regions. The board further appealed to humanitarian organisations to remain prepared to assist civilians who may be affected by the conflict.

International observers note that tensions in West Asia have periodically escalated due to geopolitical rivalries and security concerns. Calls for restraint have been echoed by various political and religious groups worldwide, who stress the need for diplomatic engagement.

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board reiterated that peace and stability in the region are essential not only for the countries directly involved but also for the broader international community. It urged global leaders to work collectively toward de escalation and constructive negotiations.

The statement concluded with an appeal for immediate cessation of hostilities and a return to dialogue under international supervision. As developments continue to unfold, diplomatic efforts by multilateral institutions are expected to play a critical role in shaping the outcome of the crisis.

The board further appealed to humanitarian organisations to remain prepared to assist civilians who may be affected by the conflict.
