Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar presented the state budget, outlining a series of significant initiatives aimed at economic growth, infrastructure development, and social welfare. Among the key announcements were the Adki Bahini Yojana, a scheme designed to support women’s empowerment, and a new airport policy to enhance connectivity and boost regional development.

The Adki Bahini Yojana aims to provide financial assistance and skill development programs for women, enabling them to achieve economic independence. Pawar emphasized that empowering women remains a priority for the state government, with various schemes being introduced to support education, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities.

In a major push for infrastructure, the Maharashtra government also introduced an airport policy aimed at developing new airports and improving air connectivity across the state. This move is expected to attract investment, promote tourism, and enhance logistics for businesses. The policy includes plans for expanding existing airports and identifying new locations for aviation hubs.

Apart from these, the budget also included provisions for agriculture, health, and urban development. The finance minister announced subsidies and incentives for farmers, improvements in healthcare facilities, and funding for metro projects in key cities. Special focus was given to sustainable development and environmental initiatives, ensuring balanced economic progress.

The opposition, however, criticized the budget, claiming that it lacked concrete measures for immediate economic relief. In response, the government assured that the policies outlined would drive long-term growth and stability in the state.
