Guwahati: Assam Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Numal Momin on Wednesday predicted that Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Gaurav Gogoi will face defeat in the Jorhat constituency in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters in Guwahati, Momin expressed strong confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party and its prospects in the region. According to him, the political mood in Assam is changing in favor of the BJP and voters are increasingly supporting the party’s development initiatives and governance record.
Momin stated that the BJP has been strengthening its presence across the state and has gained the trust of people in both urban and rural areas. He added that the party is focusing on development, infrastructure, and welfare programs which have helped it build strong support among voters.
The Deputy Speaker also claimed that the Congress party is losing its influence in several constituencies, including Jorhat. According to him, many voters are dissatisfied with the opposition’s approach and are looking for leadership that can deliver development and stability.
Jorhat has traditionally been considered an important political constituency in Assam. The seat has often witnessed strong electoral competition between major political parties including the BJP and the Congress.
