In response to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent comments about the US charges against Adani, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused him of following his “usual tactic” of targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gandhi had linked the bribery allegations against Adani to Modi, suggesting a direct connection between the two. The BJP quickly reacted, calling Gandhi’s remarks baseless and politically motivated.
The charges against industrialist Gautam Adani, which surfaced through a report in the United States, have sparked controversy in India. The US authorities accused Adani of various financial irregularities, which Gandhi seized upon to renew his criticisms of Modi. However, BJP leaders dismissed these claims, stating that Rahul Gandhi’s comments were part of a concerted attempt to malign Modi’s image for political gain.
The BJP has continued to defend Prime Minister Modi, calling the accusations against Adani a personal matter and not related to the government. Party officials have claimed that Gandhi’s remarks are a distraction from more pressing issues and represent a typical opposition tactic to undermine the current administration.
The ongoing back-and-forth between the BJP and Congress over the Adani controversy has intensified political debates across the country. Both parties are set to continue their verbal sparring as the issue unfolds, with leaders from both sides preparing to face each other in upcoming political battles.
