Sharma praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proactive approach to foreign and regional affairs, claiming even global powers like the United States and China are cautious of his strong stance on security and diplomatic matters.

BJP leaders and supporters in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district held demonstrations against the recent violence and attacks targeting Hindus in Bangladesh. The protests, which drew large crowds, called for immediate intervention by the central government to protect the safety, lives, and properties of the affected Hindu community in Bangladesh.

Sunil Sharma, BJP legislator from Jammu and Kashmir, addressed the gathering, alleging a conspiracy by multiple countries aimed at weakening India’s influence in the region. Sharma praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proactive approach to foreign and regional affairs, claiming even global powers like the United States and China are cautious of his strong stance on security and diplomatic matters.

Protesters demanded that the Indian government take firm steps to ensure that Hindus in Bangladesh are safeguarded and their properties remain protected. Slogans were raised against the caretaker prime minister of Bangladesh, along with expressions of concern over attacks allegedly carried out by certain groups within the Muslim community.

The bandh called during the protests resulted in the closure of shops and businesses in Kishtwar, signaling strong local support for the demonstration. Community members voiced solidarity with the victims in Bangladesh and emphasized the need for international attention to prevent further violence.

BJP leaders highlighted that India’s moral and strategic responsibility requires intervention to ensure minority communities in neighboring countries are protected. The protest also served as a platform for regional political messaging, reinforcing the party’s narrative on national security, regional stability, and the protection of Hindu communities abroad.

Observers noted that such protests reflect growing public concern over incidents affecting minority groups in South Asia, and underline the Indian political discourse surrounding foreign policy and humanitarian intervention. Sunil Sharma’s statements linked these regional issues with broader geopolitical concerns, suggesting that Prime Minister Modi’s leadership is recognized globally, and that other major powers are attentive to India’s policies and actions.

The demonstrations in Kishtwar form part of a series of protests by BJP leaders across the country, aimed at urging the central government to take a firmer stance in protecting minorities abroad. While the protests emphasize solidarity and public pressure, the BJP leadership continues to advocate diplomatic measures, humanitarian support, and international engagement to address ongoing incidents of violence.
