Bharatiya Janata Party president Nitin Nabin launched a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress government during his visit to West Bengal, alleging that the state is facing serious challenges due to infiltration, corruption, and administrative misgovernance. Addressing party workers and media representatives, Nabin accused the ruling dispensation of failing to protect the interests of the people and compromising national security.
Nabin alleged that large-scale infiltration from across the international border is taking place in West Bengal and claimed that the Trinamool government is deliberately shielding those involved. According to him, border districts are witnessing significant demographic changes, which he described as alarming. He stated that such changes are not accidental but the result of what he termed “systematic neglect” and “political protection” provided to infiltrators.
The BJP leader further accused the Trinamool Congress of corruption at multiple levels of governance. He claimed that welfare schemes and administrative mechanisms are being misused for political gain, while genuine beneficiaries are being sidelined. Nabin said that corruption and appeasement politics have weakened law enforcement and border security, allowing illegal activities to flourish unchecked.
During his address, Nabin also alleged that the Trinamool government selectively targets Hindu communities while remaining lenient toward infiltrators. He said that incidents of violence, intimidation, and discrimination against certain sections of society have increased under the current administration. He urged state authorities to ensure equal protection for all citizens, irrespective of religion or background.
Raising concerns about national integrity, Nabin claimed there is an intentional attempt to change the character of West Bengal. He alleged that certain political forces are attempting to push the state toward instability by ignoring infiltration issues. He warned that continued inaction could have serious consequences for the country’s internal security and social harmony.
The BJP president called on the central government to take strict measures to address infiltration and strengthen border security in coordination with central agencies. He also urged voters in West Bengal to hold the ruling party accountable for what he described as years of misrule and governance failures.
The Trinamool Congress, however, has repeatedly rejected similar allegations in the past, maintaining that it is committed to protecting the rights of all citizens and safeguarding the state’s interests. Party leaders have accused the BJP of using divisive rhetoric for political gains, especially ahead of elections.
As political exchanges intensify, the issue of border security, demographic changes, and governance continues to dominate political discourse in West Bengal. Analysts note that such statements reflect growing tensions between the BJP and the Trinamool Congress, with both sides positioning themselves strongly on issues of identity, security, and development ahead of future electoral battles.
