Delhi Assembly Leader of Opposition (LOP) Atishi has strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that its ₹2500 monthly allowance promise was nothing more than a "jumla" (false promise). Addressing the media, Atishi claimed that the BJP misled the people of Delhi with empty assurances, especially targeting lower-income groups who were expecting financial relief.
Atishi pointed out that ahead of elections, the BJP made several commitments, including direct financial assistance, but has failed to implement them. She accused the party of using such tactics only to gain votes and then neglecting the people’s needs.
She further demanded a response from BJP leaders, questioning why the promised amount has not been provided. According to her, many citizens had relied on this commitment, expecting financial support, but now feel betrayed.
Atishi urged the people of Delhi to hold the BJP accountable and seek answers regarding their unfulfilled promises. She emphasized that political parties should be transparent and honest while making commitments, rather than misleading voters with hollow assurances.
