In a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), BJP leader Praveen Khandelwal has criticized the party’s recently announced list of candidates for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. Khandelwal referred to the list as comprising of 'daagdaar' (stained) names, implying that several candidates on the list have questionable backgrounds and affiliations.
Speaking to the media, Khandelwal expressed concern over the party’s selection process, alleging that it has failed to field clean, trustworthy candidates. He claimed that AAP’s list was an attempt to push forward individuals with controversial histories, undermining the credibility of the party’s leadership.
“The list released by AAP is filled with individuals who have a dubious track record. It is clear that the party is desperate and is now willing to field anyone, regardless of their background,” Khandelwal remarked. He also accused AAP of losing its moral high ground by choosing candidates who, according to him, were not fit to represent the people of Delhi.
This statement by Khandelwal has added fuel to the ongoing political rivalry between the BJP and AAP in Delhi. The criticism comes at a time when Delhi is gearing up for a highly contested election, with both parties preparing to battle for power in the upcoming assembly polls. The BJP has reiterated its commitment to offering a cleaner, more transparent governance model, contrasting itself against AAP’s controversial candidate selections.
