In an official statement, she commended his role in strengthening the administrative machinery of Delhi and his efforts to ensure effective governance across various sectors.
Rekha Gupta acknowledged that VK Saxena has played an important role in promoting transparency, accountability, and swift decision-making within the Delhi administration. She noted that his leadership has contributed significantly to the capital’s infrastructure development, public health initiatives, and civic improvements.
“VK Saxena’s tenure has been marked by a results-oriented approach and a focus on long-term solutions. His hands-on involvement in key urban development projects and his commitment to good governance have positively impacted the citizens of Delhi,” Gupta said.
She also highlighted his collaboration with the Delhi government on several critical projects. These include initiatives related to pollution control, solid waste management, public transport improvements, and beautification of public spaces. The CM emphasized that Saxena’s pragmatic approach to solving administrative bottlenecks has enhanced the delivery of essential services to the people.
Under Saxena’s leadership, various departments have adopted a more streamlined and technology-driven approach. His commitment to public welfare, she added, is reflected in his proactive engagement with both residents and officials.
Rekha Gupta remarked that despite differences that sometimes arise between the elected government and the Lieutenant Governor, the overall collaboration has benefited the citizens. “We may have institutional differences, but our shared objective is the development and progress of Delhi. Lieutenant Governor Saxena has shown openness to dialogue and cooperation whenever required,” she said.
The Chief Minister also expressed optimism about the future, stating that the partnership between the elected government and the LG's office would continue to strengthen. She believes that such coordination is essential to tackle the multifaceted challenges of a growing metropolis like Delhi.
Political analysts have noted that VK Saxena’s administrative experience and strong connect with grassroots issues have helped bridge gaps between bureaucracy and the public. His field visits, direct interactions with citizens, and efforts to speed up key infrastructure projects have been well received by many in the capital.
In her message, Rekha Gupta concluded by thanking VK Saxena for his service and expressed her confidence that his continued presence would contribute to Delhi’s holistic development.
