Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has reiterated that the ‘Gaddar’ (traitor) controversy surrounding his political decisions has been conclusively settled by the Election Commission (EC), the Supreme Court, and the public. His remarks come amid ongoing political debates following the Shiv Sena split, where he led a faction away from Uddhav Thackeray’s leadership, aligning with the BJP to form the Maharashtra government.

Shinde addressed criticism from opposition leaders and party rivals who continue to question the legitimacy of his leadership. He firmly stated that the legal and constitutional authorities have already ruled in his favor, granting his faction the official Shiv Sena name and symbol. Additionally, he highlighted that the Supreme Court's verdict on the matter and public support through electoral victories have validated his position.

“The Election Commission has made its decision, the Supreme Court has ruled, and the people have given their mandate. There is no need for further debate on this issue,” Shinde said. He emphasized that his focus remains on governance, ensuring the welfare of Maharashtra’s citizens, and implementing development policies rather than engaging in political mudslinging.

The Shiv Sena split was one of the most significant political developments in Maharashtra, leading to a major realignment in the state’s power structure. While the Thackeray-led faction continues to challenge Shinde's claim to the party’s legacy, the Maharashtra CM asserts that he represents the true ideological and political essence of Shiv Sena, as endorsed by the people.

Shinde’s government has been actively working on infrastructure projects, economic growth initiatives, and welfare schemes to strengthen its position ahead of the upcoming elections. Political analysts believe that while the ‘Gaddar’ narrative may still be used by opponents, Shinde's strategic alignment with the BJP and administrative performance will play a key role in shaping his political future.

As Maharashtra moves towards another electoral battle, the final verdict will rest with the voters, who will decide whether Shinde’s leadership continues to hold their trust.
