YSR Congress Party leaders accused the state government of failing to maintain law and order and alleged that opposition leaders were being deliberately targeted.

Political tensions in Andhra Pradesh intensified after the residence of former minister Jogi Ramesh was allegedly vandalised and set on fire in Ibrahimpatnam. The incident has triggered sharp reactions from political parties, raising concerns over law and order in the state. Local police have launched an investigation and are assessing the extent of damage caused to the property.

The incident occurred amid an already charged political atmosphere following reports of an alleged attack on another former minister, Ambati Rambabu. Together, the incidents have added to growing political friction between the ruling Telugu Desam Party led alliance and the opposition YSR Congress Party. Opposition leaders have described the attacks as targeted acts of political violence.

YSR Congress Party leaders accused the state government of failing to maintain law and order and alleged that opposition leaders were being deliberately targeted. They claimed that such incidents reflect a breakdown of governance and demanded strict action against those responsible. Party leaders also called for impartial investigations and increased security for opposition figures.

Former minister Jogi Ramesh, reacting to the incident, expressed concern over the safety of political leaders and supporters. He urged authorities to ensure accountability and protect democratic rights. Supporters gathered near the damaged residence, demanding justice and stronger measures to prevent further violence.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu dismissed the allegations made by the opposition and strongly criticised the YSR Congress Party. He accused the party of criminalising politics and resorting to abusive tactics out of political desperation. Naidu stated that his government is committed to upholding law and order and will not tolerate violence or vandalism, regardless of political affiliation.

Naidu further alleged that the opposition was attempting to create unrest to divert attention from its own failures. He said that the administration has directed law enforcement agencies to act firmly and ensure that those involved in the incident are brought to justice. According to the chief minister, political disagreements must be resolved through democratic means and not through intimidation or violence.

Senior police officials confirmed that multiple teams have been formed to investigate the arson and vandalism. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined, and eyewitness statements are being recorded. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken once those responsible are identified.

Political analysts note that the incident highlights rising tensions in Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape. With both sides trading accusations, concerns have been raised about the impact of such incidents on public order and democratic processes. Observers have urged political leaders to exercise restraint and engage in constructive dialogue to prevent further escalation.

As investigations continue, the state administration has appealed to the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumours. Security has been increased in sensitive areas to prevent any further incidents. The developments are being closely watched, as they may influence the broader political climate in Andhra Pradesh in the coming days.

Naidu stated that his government is committed to upholding law and order and will not tolerate violence or vandalism, regardless of political affiliation.
