As the 2024 elections approach, both leaders are leveraging these public disagreements to rally support among their respective bases.

A war of words has erupted between Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar regarding the controversial slogan 'batenge toh katenge.' Fadnavis strongly criticized Pawar for associating with individuals who, according to him, have anti-Hindu ideologies, intensifying the political rivalry in the state. He claimed that Pawar’s support for certain factions is detrimental to the cultural and religious harmony of Maharashtra.

In response, Ajit Pawar dismissed Fadnavis's allegations, asserting that the slogan was made in a specific political context and was not meant to incite any religious division. Pawar's defense suggests that the slogan was a reflection of the tough political stance taken by his party and not linked to any ideological motives.

The ongoing verbal clash between the two prominent leaders is part of the broader political discord that has been simmering in Maharashtra, especially between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and NCP. As the 2024 elections approach, both leaders are leveraging these public disagreements to rally support among their respective bases.
