The delegation also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's international diplomacy for raising the issue of cross-border terrorism on global platforms.

Monrovia, Liberia – Indian Members of Parliament, during an official diplomatic visit to Liberia, took a firm stand against terrorism and indirectly called out Pakistan for its continued support to terror outfits operating in South Asia. The delegation also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's international diplomacy for raising the issue of cross-border terrorism on global platforms.

The Indian MPs, part of a multi-party delegation on a goodwill and bilateral cooperation tour, engaged with Liberian government officials, civil society representatives, and members of the Indian diaspora. During one of the key interactions, several MPs remarked that India is no longer silent on terrorism and continues to expose those sheltering terror groups before the global community.

“India has transformed its global image under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. We are now actively working with other nations to isolate countries that promote terrorism,” said one of the MPs, addressing a gathering in Monrovia.

While the MPs did not name Pakistan directly during official meetings, the references were clear as they spoke of countries "in the neighbourhood" that continue to "harbour and export terrorism." They highlighted how India’s strong stance at international forums such as the United Nations, G20, and BRICS has led to a more unified global approach to counterterrorism.

The delegation emphasized that India’s outreach to Africa is not just economic or strategic, but also based on shared values of peace, development, and mutual respect. Liberia, in particular, has been a strong diplomatic partner for India in West Africa, with both countries working together in sectors such as healthcare, education, and agriculture.

The MPs also highlighted India's growing role in supporting African countries through skill development, infrastructure projects, and digital technology partnerships. They noted that India remains committed to fostering strong South-South cooperation while ensuring that terrorism has no place in global governance or diplomacy.

“We must all stand united against those who fund, protect, and support terror groups. India’s message is clear: there is zero tolerance for terrorism,” said another member of the delegation.

The MPs' visit also included discussions on increasing parliamentary collaboration between India and Liberia, improving people-to-people ties, and exploring opportunities for Indian investments in Liberia's renewable energy and digital sectors.

Political observers noted that the strong language used by Indian representatives reflects New Delhi's evolving foreign policy — one that is assertive, security-conscious, and strategically focused on building alliances against global threats like terrorism.

The delegation concluded its visit with a cultural event hosted by the Indian embassy in Monrovia, where diaspora members expressed pride in India’s growing international presence and active diplomatic engagement.

The visit served not only to strengthen bilateral ties with Liberia but also to amplify India’s message on terrorism and global security — a theme that continues to dominate its international agenda.
