Participants will have the opportunity to meet recruiters from a wide range of industries including information technology, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, healthcare, and education.

The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) has announced the organization of a mega job fair in Delhi to commemorate the birthday of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Scheduled to take place this week, the job fair aims to provide a platform for job seekers and employers to engage directly, facilitating employment opportunities across various sectors. The initiative has been framed as part of the IYC’s broader commitment to support youth empowerment and tackle unemployment in the country.

According to the IYC leadership, this job fair is expected to attract thousands of young individuals from Delhi and surrounding regions. Participants will have the opportunity to meet recruiters from a wide range of industries including information technology, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, healthcare, and education. The event is free and open to all eligible candidates.

Srinivas BV, President of the Indian Youth Congress, stated that the fair is not just a symbolic gesture, but a concrete step to connect skilled youth with meaningful employment. “Rahul Gandhi has always emphasized the importance of empowering the youth of this country. We believe employment is one of the key pillars of empowerment. This job fair is a tribute to that vision,” he said in a statement.

In preparation for the event, the IYC has partnered with multiple private sector companies, HR consultancies, and skill development platforms. Employers will set up recruitment booths, and job seekers can participate in on-the-spot interviews. Some companies are also expected to conduct preliminary screening rounds and shortlist candidates for follow-up interviews.

Additionally, the job fair will feature career counseling and resume-building workshops to help young professionals enhance their employability. Experts from various sectors will conduct short sessions on workplace skills, interview etiquette, and industry-specific expectations.

The event is also being positioned as part of the Congress party’s narrative around addressing unemployment in India, especially among youth. Party leaders argue that despite the growing number of educated young people, there is a lack of adequate employment support from the central government. The job fair is therefore being promoted as a proactive intervention to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity.

While political observers see the event as a strategic move to engage young voters and project the Congress party’s focus on development-oriented politics, IYC leaders maintain that the primary aim is to deliver tangible support to unemployed youth.

Security arrangements and health safety protocols are also being put in place for the smooth conduct of the fair. Attendees have been asked to register in advance online or at designated help desks at the venue.

As the event draws closer, thousands of applicants have already expressed interest. The IYC has stated that it plans to conduct similar employment-oriented events in other parts of the country in the coming months.
