Speaking at a public interaction, Chouhan praised the Union Government’s strategic initiatives that, according to him, laid the foundation for long-term economic growth and international recognition.

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has credited India’s leap to becoming the world’s fourth-largest economy to well-planned policy changes and swift decision-making at the central level. Speaking at a public interaction, Chouhan praised the Union Government’s strategic initiatives that, according to him, laid the foundation for long-term economic growth and international recognition.

Chouhan emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has not only stabilized its economy but also shown consistent upward growth despite global challenges. “The shift in India's global economic position is not by chance. It is the outcome of visionary leadership, targeted reforms, and decisive governance,” he said.

He pointed out that reforms in taxation, investment, and manufacturing—especially the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), Make in India, and Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes—have significantly improved India’s ease of doing business and attracted global investments.

Chouhan also noted that India’s focus on infrastructure expansion, rural development, and digital transformation played a key role in driving inclusive growth. The Digital India campaign, financial inclusion through Jan Dhan Yojana, and improvements in roadways, railways, and logistics have supported both urban and rural economies.

“Today, foreign companies view India as a preferred destination for investment. Our consistent growth rates, demographic strength, and policy clarity are contributing factors,” Chouhan said. He added that India has managed to maintain macroeconomic stability even during volatile global economic phases.

He also pointed out how key sectors such as agriculture, technology, and pharmaceuticals have become globally competitive due to policy support and sector-specific reforms. Startups in India are thriving with better access to funding and government-backed initiatives that foster innovation and entrepreneurship.

Addressing criticisms, Chouhan mentioned that while there are challenges to be addressed, the economic progress under the current regime is evident through international recognition and growth indicators. He reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to sustaining this momentum and ensuring that economic benefits reach all sections of society.

Highlighting the IMF and World Bank’s positive projections for India, Chouhan concluded by stating that the global perception of India has changed significantly. “The world no longer looks at India as just a developing country, but as a leading voice in the global economy,” he said.

Chouhan urged citizens to support policies that bring long-term economic resilience and strengthen India’s standing in the international community. As India positions itself among the top global economies, governance and policy implementation will remain at the core of its continued success.

He pointed out that reforms in taxation, investment, and manufacturing—especially the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), Make in India, and Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes—have significantly improved India’s ease of doing business and attracted global investments.
