Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir – June 4:

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has taken decisive action by terminating the services of three government employees over alleged links to terror outfits. The order for dismissal was issued by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha under Article 311(2)(c) of the Indian Constitution, which allows the government to remove public servants without a departmental inquiry in matters involving national security.

According to official sources, the three individuals were employed in various departments of the Union Territory government and were under surveillance for their suspected involvement in activities that could compromise public safety and the integrity of the state machinery. Intelligence reports indicated their links to banned terror groups and support for anti-national activities.

The terminated employees are accused of aiding terrorist operations through various means, including passing sensitive information, maintaining direct contact with terror operatives, and facilitating logistics. Their actions, according to security agencies, posed a serious threat to law and order in the region.

This move comes as part of the ongoing efforts by the Jammu and Kashmir administration to root out elements from the system that are believed to be working against the interests of the country. Over the past few years, the administration has carried out several such dismissals to clean up the government structure and ensure that public service is not misused by individuals acting with malicious intent.

A senior official from the Home Department stated that such steps are necessary to maintain a trustworthy and secure government environment, especially in a sensitive region like Jammu and Kashmir. The decision was made after compiling reports from multiple intelligence and law enforcement agencies, which collectively confirmed the involvement of the employees in activities considered prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India.

Article 311(2)(c) provides the government with the authority to bypass a full departmental inquiry in cases where conducting such a procedure is not considered feasible due to the involvement of confidential intelligence and national security matters. The use of this constitutional provision underscores the seriousness of the allegations.

The administration has also emphasized that such actions are not targeted against any individual or group but are part of broader measures to prevent infiltration of extremist ideologies within the public sector. Officials confirmed that the government will continue to act against individuals found to be involved in activities that promote terrorism or disrupt communal harmony.

The public has responded with mixed reactions—some appreciating the government’s firm stance on internal threats, while others have called for transparency and legal recourse for those dismissed. However, the administration maintains that national interest and security take precedence over procedural formalities in such exceptional cases.

The Jammu and Kashmir government has reiterated its commitment to a peaceful and secure environment, free from the influence of terror-linked individuals in official roles.

A senior official from the Home Department stated that such steps are necessary to maintain a trustworthy and secure government environment, especially in a sensitive region like Jammu and Kashmir.
