Congress leader K C Venugopal has criticised Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over his recent remarks concerning Rahul Gandhi. Venugopal alleged that Vijayan has been consistently targeting Rahul Gandhi while avoiding criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to the media, Venugopal claimed that the Kerala Chief Minister is concerned about the growing political influence of Rahul Gandhi, particularly in the Wayanad region. He stated that instead of addressing national issues or challenging the central government, Vijayan has chosen to focus his criticism on opposition leaders.

Venugopal further alleged that political considerations and agreements with the central government could be a reason behind Vijayan stance. According to him, the Kerala government has maintained a relatively cautious approach in dealing with the Centre, which he said reflects in the lack of direct criticism of the Prime Minister.

The Congress leader also spoke about the prospects of the United Democratic Front in upcoming political contests. He expressed confidence that the UDF would perform strongly in Wayanad and win all seats in the region. He highlighted that the alliance has strong public support and is focused on addressing key issues affecting people.

In addition to political remarks, Venugopal addressed the issue of rehabilitation and housing projects for people affected by natural disasters in Kerala. He stated that the UDF is committed to ensuring that housing projects for landslide affected families are completed efficiently. He emphasised the importance of timely assistance and rehabilitation for those who have suffered losses due to such incidents.

The exchange of statements reflects the ongoing political rivalry between the Congress led UDF and the Left Democratic Front led by Pinarayi Vijayan in Kerala. Political analysts note that such verbal exchanges are likely to intensify as elections approach, with parties trying to strengthen their positions among voters.

Meanwhile, no official response was immediately available from the office of the Kerala Chief Minister regarding the remarks made by Venugopal. Observers believe that political debates and counter statements will continue in the coming days as leaders address public concerns and outline their agendas.

The developments highlight the dynamic nature of Kerala politics, where alliances and leadership strategies play a crucial role in shaping electoral outcomes.
