Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao has launched a sharp attack on the Congress government in Telangana over widespread internet disruptions that left citizens across the state struggling with essential services. Addressing the issue, KTR said that electing an inefficient government naturally results in chaos and compared the state of affairs to a circus. His remarks reflect growing political tensions as the opposition seeks to corner the ruling party on governance-related issues.
According to KTR, internet connectivity has become a basic necessity for students, businesses, and ordinary citizens, yet the government has failed to ensure uninterrupted digital services. He pointed out that disruptions had severely impacted online education, digital payments, healthcare services, and small businesses that rely on stable internet. Highlighting the scale of inconvenience caused, he accused the Congress administration of neglecting technological infrastructure and ignoring repeated warnings from experts.
KTR further alleged that the government’s promises of strengthening the state’s IT backbone have remained unfulfilled. Instead of providing solutions, he claimed, the administration has failed to respond quickly to technical challenges, leaving lakhs of people without access to essential online facilities. In his statement, he argued that digital connectivity is not just an urban necessity but also a lifeline for rural communities where internet services are critical for government welfare schemes and agriculture-related updates.
The BRS leader also accused the Congress government of lacking vision and planning in managing Telangana’s growing technological needs. He recalled that under the previous BRS government, Telangana had emerged as a leading state in IT development and e-governance, with Hyderabad gaining global recognition as a technology hub. KTR criticized the Congress leadership for failing to build on these achievements and instead allowing the state’s digital infrastructure to collapse.
Political observers believe that the issue of internet disruptions could become a significant point of debate in Telangana’s political landscape. With the state positioning itself as a technology-driven economy, failures in connectivity strike at the core of governance promises. Analysts note that KTR’s sharp remarks are part of a broader political strategy to project the Congress government as incapable of handling modern governance challenges.
Public reactions to the disruptions have also been critical, with students, entrepreneurs, and professionals expressing frustration on social platforms. Many have highlighted that even short internet outages can cause huge financial losses, while prolonged disruptions damage the credibility of the state as an investment-friendly destination. Opposition leaders argue that such failures weaken Telangana’s competitiveness against other IT hubs in India.
KTR concluded his remarks by urging citizens to hold the government accountable and demand reliable infrastructure. He stated that digital services are not luxuries but essential utilities that require proper planning and efficient management. His criticism is expected to intensify in the coming weeks as the opposition seeks to amplify public anger and present itself as a stronger alternative.
The controversy over internet disruptions has thus opened a new front in Telangana politics, with governance, technology, and accountability becoming the central themes of debate.
